I grew up in Denver, Colorado where my parents cultivated my love of Film by taking me to the movies almost every weekend. This love of film continued to grow over the years and I cemented my decision to work in movies after a two-day seminar on film making. After that seminar, I bought many books that I could on film making. I shot short films with my friends and took film study classes during high school. After graduation, I attended the Colorado Film School. It was at this school that I was first introduced to Editing for the first time and instantly fell in love with it. My teacher recognized that I had a talent for editing and recommended I take some editing classes as well as look into becoming an Editor as a career. This was the moment that I decided to become an Editor. It was here that I would take the next step on my path to becoming an Editor was when I moved to California to attend Video Symphony to study post production. I gave my heart and soul into every class and absorbed all the knowledge during my studies and my love for editing was solidified that it seemed clear to me that editing was meant to be my destiny and my professors had constantly advised me that I was a natural.
After graduating, I worked various gigs and eventually worked at Trailer Park which I worked as an Assistant Editor and was lucky to have Producers who believed in my talent and they would give me pieces to edit which helped me to hone my craft further. I also freelanced on the side and edited my first two feature films Tremens and Wayward Pilgrim as well as several short films, promos, and music videos. Two of my largest accomplishments were the documentaries that I edited that both had won Emmy Awards in 2007 and 2012. I also worked as an Assistant Editor for Carson Daily for two seasons where I began cutting Music Acts and Wraparounds for different segments of the show. More recently, I worked as Lead Assistant Editor in On-Air Promos Dept for the newly created television network El Rey Network which was founded by Robert Rodriguez. I built the framework for the department as well cut promos and featurettes after hours and was eventually promoted to Editor in my third year. I was recently an Assistant Editor for the opening sequence for this years 2017 Golden Globes with NBC and I worked as the Jr. Editor for a new web series called We Got Issues.
